Laptop vs Netbook: What's the difference?

laptop vs netbook

So far, all the habits of the term laptop, and many were able to use one. What are the differences between a laptop and a netbook computer?

A netbook is a small computer that weighs as much as a book you would take on a transatlantic flight. Usually it is about 2 to 3 pounds. A netbook computer is primarily intended for access to the Internet. It does not have much computer power to perform most complex applications. However, it is useful for online access to your e-mails, Skype and your documents. Another important difference is that most netbooks do not have an optical drive (DVD or CD player).

A laptop can be as small as a 10-inch screen or as big as a 17-inch screen. These 10 inches correspond to the upper limit of netbooks, with some overlap. Laptops usually also have wireless network cards, a lot of processor power with good processors and large amounts of memory and storage. Most come with an optical drive and many with card reader to read from USB devices. Laptops can be as powerful as desktops and weigh about 5 pounds or more.

Both must be removed from their luggage at the security check at the airport.

Netbooks are also made to be cheap. This may mean lower quality components or other comfort issues. However, this places them in a price range which makes them much cheaper than laptops.

In summary, netbooks are not only smaller than laptops, they also have less processing power and no optical drive. If you want a real computer, get yourself a laptop. If you want a lighter version of a computer for important Internet access, a netbook may be right for you.
